Anaconda Artwork by Seimiek

Urban artist and friend “Seimiek” from Lima, Peru painted during the Peruvian summer the final version of his artworks on my bmx flatland frame. This time he has been influenced by the Peruvian Jungle and its animals.

The ANACONDA represents for us in Peru a powerful animal that dominates the rivers in the deep Amazon.

During the last three years he has painted “The Blitz” and “Lima in Flammen” artworks. Amazing job ! Muchas Gracias

Photography Exhibition Lima – Peru 2014

“Appropriation of Urban space through the BMX Freestyle”

During this Summer in Peru I have gotten the chance to organize a Photography Exhibition in Lima. The Project was based in my Photography Thesis, including images of BMX Freestyle and Urban pictures. The Exhibition was held at Bruno Gallery in Miraflores, from 12.02.14 to 20.02.2014. Together with good friends: urban Artist SeimiekDj Thomas Young and Irene Rojas Erlenbach from Wildschnitt, we have put together Graffiti, Dj performance and Video projection for the Vernissage. Also designer Masaki Gaja made this nice Artwork for the Flyer, check it out!

The Exhibition attracted many people and we have gotten a good feedback, in a country, where BMX freestyle is not well know between citizens. Even a local newspaper “ La Republica” and other websites wrote about it. Check press release by Redbull, a nice  Photo Gallery made by Fernando Contreras / Slide Skateboarding, Seimiek and Wildschnitt. Thanks to all the people, that have visited the Exhibition, the Riders, and persons, who got involved in BMX Freestyle as a sport and lifestyle.

List of Rider’s Image: Waldemar Fatkin(Ger), Jorge ” Viki” Gomez(Es), Matti Röse(Ger), Amaury Grea(Rd), Richie Estrella(Rd), Charles Paty(Fr), Mo-rich(Jp), Remy Dunoyer (Fr), Jorge Nazario(Pe).

Lima in Flammen 2

After more than 30,000 km

All the way long from Japan, through Germany and Peru. The Frame finally came back to Berlin a few days ago for the High-End process. It means, that we have applied a solid compound of Glossy Clear Lacquer over the Artwork for a better durability. Normally this product is used to protect car parts…This time we will try it with some BMX Flatland Abuse! Have a look to the Gallery!

Lima in Flammen

 Bike Frame Painting

Lima in Flammen

The idea has begun, the last time, that I have visited Peru. Together with good friend and Urban artist Seimiek from Lima, we have decided to do a collaboration artwork, that joins urban art and sport. So, what better that use the frame of my bike to represent it! After our first test with the Blitz frame a few months ago, trying to find the best way to apply the right technique, colors, and design, we have got the first version:  “The Blaue Blitz”.

For this Second time, we are using “The LASH” , the new BMX Flatland frame of Autum Bicycles from Germany. We have improved some stuff to get a better result with the paint durability and also the design. This paint artwork is called: “LIMÅ IN FLÅMMEN” (english: Flames). Under this tittle, our idea is to join both cities, Lima: where I grew up and Berlin: where I live and ride BMX. That’s how we have chosen the colors of the sunset in Lima and the head of a Berliner Bear, the symbol of the German Capital, to represent this connection between both places.

We will keep posting more pictures of the Hand Made process in Lima, and then follow the Frame in its way back to Germany for the End process in Berlin. Here the first pictures from Peru.
